Hello & much welcome to the Toronto blogging community

We wanted to give you a good event. Something that you will be proud of and remember us by. A full event with an educational value and an excellent lineup of speakers.

Over the past months, we have worked hard to make this vision a reality.

With respect, we are continuing this event as “Word11″ and not as WordCamp Toronto. We love WordCamps and the WordPress community, and look forward to supporting the next WordCamp Toronto.

This event will be expanded beyond the WordPress platform to include a vibrant and diverse attendance that represents all that our city has to offer.

Word11 will remain a great event for those who know the technical ins-and-outs of blogging frameworks, but also make space to welcome new users, bloggers, and the hard-working business folks who rely on their blog to attract and keep clients.

We are also postponing the event from May 14th to Saturday, August 27th, so that the event delivers on all its promises.

As such we will be refunding all ticket sales to date. As a thank you for believing in us, we will provide $5 off to all registrants who have signed up now and choose to return in August, as well as offering a flat group rate for five of your friends.

In the meantime our website will be updated to reflect the news. And we will be working harder than ever to land your interest and support.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to interacting with you leading up to August. We want you to be happy with our decision and planning for the months ahead; our lines are open – kindly let us know what you think.

Much Appreciated,
The Word11 Organizing Committee

  1. Mary Simpson says:

We maintain three wordpress blogs, and live three hours from Toronto and are in need of some hands on training to go from the free platform to .org.

I just arrived at the website to register for May 14 and interpret that there must be organizational challenges. I will mark August date in my book.

Remember that Toronto is not just “down town”. Toronto is a hub for all of southern Ontario and beyond. The ruraliltes appreciate all the lead time and information you can muster. Good luck with the organizing.

  2. Thanks for making the changes. Blogging goes well beyond the platform. I already registered for May but was wary of attending an event with a WordPress focus. You’ve alleviated those concerns :)

PS The new location looks interesting.
