The Word11 Theme
The Word11 theme was developed for WordPress version 3.1. It includes a menu for the whole site and four custom sidebars. Two of the sidebars are used on the homepage; the two other are shared on the rest of the site.
The theme includes a header in two different designs: day and night colors. It randomly changes when the user updates the browser or goes to a different page.
In order to make the website more attractive to the visitor, the theme uses a typographic engine written in JavaScript for some of its headings. The Google Font API and the Yanone Kaffeesatz font are used.
The theme was coded for a multiuser environment where different editors and administrators are in charge of the site. It includes five forms using the Formidable form plugin, all them easily modifiable from the WordPress dashboard.
All the content of word11.com, including its sidebars and header, is easily editable using the WordPress dashboard without HTML or programming knowledge.
The website is coded to be search friendly and allows visitors to share its content on more than 300 social networks and aggregators using the AddThis social bookmarking plugin.
Additionally, the social media icons to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and RSS use the CSS image-replacement technique so browsers with limited image capabilities can still show regular text linking to each profile.
